Th install QBook from the distribution diskette:
Create a subdirectory for QBook (ie: C:\QBOOK). From within the
QBook subdirectory, execute the self extracting file QBOOK100.EXE from
the floppy which contains it (type A:QBOOK100 or B:QBOOK100).
All of the QBook files will be extracted into your current directory.
The file sampledb.exe is a self-extracting ZIP file, which contains a
sample database of 90 recipes, including favorite recipes of the Beta
team and of my family. If you would like to use the sample database,
execute SAMPLEDB in the QBOOK subdirectory.
The first time you run QBOOK, it will prompt you for some information
and the installation will be complete.
If you are upgrading from a version prior to Beta release 1.00.10,
you will need to run the program QBUPDATE.EXE.
I have included icon files for both OS/2 and Windows.
For easy installation under OS/2, run the Rexx program QBOOKINS from an
OS/2 command line. QBook was developed and tested in an OS/2 VDM and
should run quite well under OS/2.
It has been reported to me that QBook runs well as a DOS program under
Windows, but I have never tested it myself. Feel free to rename
QBICON.WIN to QBOOK.ICO and give it a whirl. If you have problems under
Windows, try running pure DOS or OS/2.
